Our Mission
Rehoboth Oromo Evangelical Church (ROEC) is a mission-based church (ascribed to Matthew 28:18-20 and Romans 8:37-39) to proclaim the saving work of Jesus Christ to all people and particularly, Oromo as a primary mission target.
ROEC believes, teaches, and confesses Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior through whom everything was made and through whose life, death and resurrection God fashions a new creation. ROEC also believes that salvation is received by grace through confession and repentance.
Holistic ministry is our mission to meet the need for both soul and body.
ROEC dedicates a reasonable percentage of her income to be used as a mission fund to advance the Kingdom of God and to address human need outside of our congregation, including the possibility of establishing other branches within Ohio. These branches shall function in accordance with the provisions of the Church’s Constitution and the rules made there under.
Our Purpose
This Church is a people created by God in Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and called and sent to bear witness to God’s creative, redeeming, and sanctifying activity in the world. To this end, this congregation:
Shall worship God in proclamation of the Word, administration of the Sacraments, and through lives of prayer, praise, thanksgiving, witness, and service;
Shall provide pastoral care and assists all members to participate in this ministry;
Shall guide the children in the right way for their spiritual life;
Shall encourage its members to study and apply the Word of God in their daily lives.
Our Beliefs
We believe in God the Father, almighty and eternal, who created all things, visible and invisible, through Christ, and who sent us His Son and the Holy Spirit.
We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, born of the Virgin Mary, fully God and fully man; who suffered and died for our sins on the cross; was buried, rose from the grave on the third day, ascended into heaven and who now sits on the right-hand side of the Father and intercedes for us, the head and foundation of his church.
We believe that our Lord is coming again with great power and glory, in the resurrection of the dead and in the eternal destination of sinners in hell and of the righteous in heaven.
